Dex Draws!
Hey, folks!
While we rebuild the buffer, we’ll still be bringing you content and whatnot. Today, thanks to Dex, we have a video of him working on what will be page 342. I have the finished page, and it’s every bit as fantastic as this start indicates.
As the week goes on, I’ll try and get a lettering video up for you guys, so you can see what goes into a page after Dex finishes with it!
Cool video, Dex! (And your little girl is such a sweetie!)
About how long does it take you to complete a page, from rough layout to finished product? Some of these pages, like the monastery, must have taken quite some time to do.
Love your work, and I need to catch up on reading Swerve.
Thanks Kate. It really depends on what the page requires. Some pages takes only half a day and some two or three days. But usually a rough layout will take around 5-30 minutes (this is the tough part ), tight pencils will take from 2 to 6 hours and photoshop for grays around 30 minutes. I don’t work straight hours on a page, I take breaks from time to time. I do one to two or a maximum of three pages a day, working on one or two projects a day. I used to draw till 4am before but since baby Ada was borned I adjusted my time and work till 12 midnight only so i could wake up early. 🙂
Dex, I have to say, the pages have always been so good that I read them in color. I’m sure many others are able to see it as well.
Now I know the reason behind the Philippine stuffs in the background. 😉
