This page really works for me. It brings together several elements; the mood, resolve and dark humor of Charlie’s character. The top panels move closer to something awful, something all the previous pages have been working towards but the sense of immanency is much more tangible. Charlie’s dark eyes – the mask of tragedy – reminds me of Eric Draven. The center top especially with what might be a dark tear sliding down his left cheek only the crying is done and only the resolve to use the gun remains. Only one last thing to do; get Pavlov a new owner. It’s poignant and carries a lot of emotion.
