I thought that may have been why Charlie (Prime?) was looking so odd at the “door,” especially when I looked back for his first attempt with Leo (We are going to get that name explained I assume?).
Didn’t the Nerd say “I loathe coincidence in a universe absolutely full of constants”?
In a way, I’m glad you relatively just started this, as it only took me a few minutes to get up to speed, unlike something like Evil Inc., for instance, where it took me like a week of reading what I could when I could to get fully caught up, thiugh that’s more humor than this, obviously (DUH)
So are you keeping that buffer of about 13-15 pages ahead of the curve? Thought I read you’ve got this done out to #71 if I remember correctly along the way….
BTW io9 fan, and am now CTI obsessive! Thanks for the mindfuck!
I am indeed keeping a 13-15 page buffer. We need to do approximately 6.3 pages every two weeks to get ahead, and we’ve been doing 7-8 (depending), so the idea is that we’ll create a massive buffer layer, so sickness, financial woe, or any real calamity won’t prevent the comic from going out.
Ideally, I want to get us to 5 days a week, which I don’t think would be a problem once it can be financially sorted.
You are more than welcome. 🙂 Just wait until you see where the line of logic on this page leads… 😉
Well, I hate to say it, but as much as I would like this @ a 5 day a week run, I think the updates as it stands should be fine. I understand the desire, but as I have gotten quite used to webstrips giving me neocliffhangers that get resolved every few days (except for EI, which does 5 days a week, 6 if you count the weekend strip), I’m more than happy to check in every other day during the week to see where this is going to go, especially if there is something to what CP thought/said…I’d almost think (prematurely of course) that CP and DE are one and the same, and when they meet, it will be that kind of logic that DE can’t kill CP because he’ll eliminate himself, which is kind of what he wants, but on his terms, no one else’s…but that would be too easy, right? LOL
I can’t comment on that, because it’d step on the story… but I will say that I am aware of those assumptions, and am tailoring the story to hopefully keep it interesting knowing that everyone will be thinking those things (if I’ve done my work right).
As for sticking to three days, I’ll definitely listen to that, because my assumption was that more would be better, but if a solid three a week pace is what folks want, that’s just as easy to do. I’m open to either way. I’ll definitely be asking, though, as things move along, what people want.
I will say (given that folks have speculated) that it’s not going to be like Jet Li’s The One, though I admire their use of the device. Dark Everett has a different motivation… it’s not about magical power or strengthening himself.

Sometimes shit happens, someone’s gotta deal with, who you gonna call?
I like the new site layout. Nice work!
Thank you! It’s not finished yet, but we’re quite proud so far. Check the blog entry for more news.
