Executed it INCREDIBLY and far beyond my wildest expectations!
When I first saw this page, I had to literally bind myself with duct tape to stop from showing it to everyone early. One of those pages that just really stops your heart.
Damn that’s some nice artwork for this page. It might look a little like “random squiggles” but few people realize how difficult it is to draw fire in a black-and-white medium.
On a side note, is it bad that I’m identifying a lot more with DE now? Only instead of thinking “Screw it, BURN EVERYTHING!” I’m “Screw it, THIS SHIT’S AMAZING FOR EVEN EXISTING!”
Hey Neal, you’ve got a “fiddling” tag attached to page 136. You need one here too. I need to know that if I ever want to go back and check out all the Cura Te Ipsum fiddling scenes, they’ll all be packaged together under one tag
Cool. By the way, I love the tags. Wish more webcomics did it. Great for when I need a jog on characters’ backstories, or when I can’t remember the last time I saw Squirt.
Yeah, I dig it too because I love to categorize things… it’s also helpful from the standpoint of talking to you fine folks, because then I can go, “Hey, is he called Andrus yet?” This is helpful when you don’t want to spoil and you’re writing page 345, heh.
*Stands up, starts applauding wildly* Bravo, Dex. Bravo.
(Oh, and nice violin playing, Andrus, but really Dex is the true maestro here.)
Thanks Kate. We’re working hard to make each page worthy of the readers time and to make this comic a success as well.
I also do wish I could play a violin but I’m contended with my cheap guitar for now. 🙂
Outstanding.
OK, I’m back. I saw this and I had no words. I was just unable to CAN, and it’s glorious.
Thanks for the kind words. It’s Neal’s idea. I just executed it. 🙂

Literally?!
Hey, the execution is half the battle.
If it was guitar, then the right song would be Sympathy for the Devil. 🙂
Though I love Sympathy, I have to say, this would be Dark Everett’s guitar song:

Good work!
This is brilliant. I literally gasped when I saw it. This is amazing, both the writing and the art. Well done, good sir. Well done.
Wow…
Is this the anchor universe? I would have imagined that by now only ashes and dust would have remained.
It’s not the Anchor Universe… it’s ancient Rome. They’re fiddling while Rome burns in a random.
Wow. Just wow.
On a side note, is it bad that I’m identifying a lot more with DE now? Only instead of thinking “Screw it, BURN EVERYTHING!” I’m “Screw it, THIS SHIT’S AMAZING FOR EVEN EXISTING!”
… … …TRADITION!
Okay so its not fiddler on the roof, but I couldn’t help myself.

Done! Thanks for the keen eye.

Also: More Squirt!
Also helpful for when you can’t remember for the life of you that Leo is called “Leo.”
Yeah, I dig it too because I love to categorize things… it’s also helpful from the standpoint of talking to you fine folks, because then I can go, “Hey, is he called Andrus yet?” This is helpful when you don’t want to spoil and you’re writing page 345, heh.
It’s surprisingly upbeat for a requiem
Gentlemen, let’s broaden our minds.
