Alternate title: “Chuck Cassidy and the Noseless Kid” LOL
And is it just me, or does it seem that Charl-drus quite easily moves to the dark side after having his life threatened seemingly every 5 minutes by DE since DE busted through his door?
Strange. The one I have on my computer is already corrected. I must have fixed it and just left the old version up. Sigh. At least I don’t have to move it to the other computer to make the file (I have to use two computers to make the damned program work properly…).
Ah man, how do you guys do this?
Every week I get incredibly excited because Cura will be updating soon. Then it updates and I’m like SWEET. And then I’m left wondering WHAT NOW, WHAT NOW?
It’s strange to actually be following a comic. Usually I’m far far behind and reading A LOT to catch up.
Like I have to do with Homestuck.
OK, since we now have the term ‘relative now’, which somewhat supplants my personal favorite, elsewhen, as meaning ‘the events you are seeing are not happening at this exact moment, but they are happening at the same time then‘ ;), can I ask ‘relative when’ does this occur in relation to say, Prime being accosted by Junior on that field trip he was on as a kid?
(Of all people, Lord BaileyMort, you should know what I mean LOL)
I see it as, since Undertaker is dead in the present, any time we see him, it will be “relative” now, given that it’s the past, the future, or some other time where he existed (that’s part of the mystery). Though it is, of course, open to many interpretations.
Whew, just wasted an entire night getting caught up on all these comics! Good thing it’s the weekend. Now I can finally speculate and share my theories along with everyone else, instead of being trapped in the relative comic past. 😛
This arc with Andrus is rather tragic. It seems that Andrus was just an otherwise ordinary suicide, and if only he’d run into a Cura Charlie (or even his past self alone) instead of Dark Everett then he would have been a nicer, non-suicidal guy and DE wouldn’t have been so powerful.
Theory: The “Charlie Zero”, while not Andrus, had Andrus’s ability and therefore was unable to kill himself. Only the Dark Everett never came, so he decided he was meant to live and met himself and talked with himself and decided to save his other self’s life. Then in the process of finding a way for the other Charlie to travel, he rummaged through his dead neighbor’s jewelery and found the stone. Thus Cura Te Ipsum was born.
Or at least, that all makes sense to me after a night of no sleep. XD Going to bed. Good night…er, good morning.
I have a rather bizarre skill in coming up with phrases that sum up things succinctly in an easy to grasp way but definitely cause a double-take…In that case, I wanted to come up with something so opposite of ‘true’ that the word ‘false’ (or the phrase ‘or not’) is insufficient to express just how different it was…
My favorite over the years:
“You have all the subtlety of a landmine in a bowl of oatmeal.”

That is one of the best theoretical postulations I’ve heard in a while…Don’t worry, though, Lord BaileyMort will be sure to give you the introductory thanks for reading and then a most vague assessment of your theory that will neither conform nor deny any parts of it that may be true or complete fluffernutter and sardines on an onion roll with a wasabi milkshake LOL
If you’ve read the comments on these as you went along, you’ll see many examples (admittedly my name is probably on the majority of them, my enthusiasm to think I had a handle on it was feisty to say the least 😉 ) of our Dark Master lovingly crushing our speculation(s) under his well-sneakered heel LOL
That is not to say you shouldn’t continue to publicly speculate (there is a section in the Forum specifically for Wild Speculation, created by my wife in another life, Kate, if you’d rather be more private with them) as the comments section is kind of a speculative hive mind, and from all the time we have been doing so, we do have some semblence of a positive collective (unlike the Borg LOL) that Lord BaileyMort does appreciate 🙂
And last but not least, Welcome to Cura, and put on your seatbelts, it’s gonna be a bumpy ride! 😉
That is the best damn theory I’ve heard suggested! Like punx said, when Mr. Bailey passes through, we’ll all be treated to a definite no, a maybe-yes-maybe-no, which everyone likes to lean towards yes, or I-can’t-spoil-this-part-of-the-story-even-though-this-bit-may-or-may-not-have-anything-to-do-with-your-theory.
In fact, I even propose that, and endorse, your theory is the only way that CTI was formed, since it would seem that DE was once a part of CTI until something changed inside of him that caused him to loosely form NTI and wage war against all living Charlies across the (relative) multiverse….though that assessment has never been given concrete validity per se, as we’ve only had anecdotal evidence from only one side of the situation….;)
Fluffernutter and sardines on an onion roll with a wasabi milkshake sounds tastier than the truth. 😛
Thanks for the welcomes, but I’m actually not sure of the validity of my own theory. Leo said that they suspect the Anchor Universe is where Charlie first decided not to kill himself, and it makes sense that an Andrus-like Charlie would decide not to kill himself, but I don’t know. It could have been a Charlie that managed his depression better or sought help when he was feeling suicidal. I mean, I know most Charlies don’t do that, but you’d think given the variety we see at least a few would. I’m glad ya’ll liked my theory though, I have a few more down the pipeline that I’ll post when they become relevant to the current comic.
And yes, I have read ALL the comments, and I am familiar with the ways of your Lord Baileymort and how many theories he has crushed. S’okay though, I don’t expect to be right all the time, I haven’t been so far.
I really do not like Andrus. (I just finished reading the whole series as of 9/5.) He is such an enabler. Grant Dark E would still be doing what he is doing but he would not be anywhere near as successful without Andrus. He lives out a bunch of fantasies and then still wants to die? He’s the first Charlie we encounter that can’t be killed by DE and that makes them buddies? Please do not misunderstand: it’s excellent writing but it’s just unfortunate is all.
Oh man, these two are going to have so much fun…
And seriously, Andrus and DE make being bad look good.
“Dark Everett & Andrus: Making being bad look good since relative now.”
LOL 😉
So all the killing Andrus has done and will continue to do can be traced back to this moment, him wanting to be a sheriff.
This looks awesome. Cannot WAIT to see what happens next.
HAT!
typo….’sherrif’ 🙂

Why ‘Charl-drus’? He’s not Andrus yet, and he still looks more like Charlie 😉
And yes, I know they’re ALL Charlie, whomever was thinking of correcting me LOL
And I guess somewhere along the line, he gets fiddling lessons LOL
Neal and Dexter, just want to let you both know – in my average list of web comics I follow, your work is at the top of my list. ^___^
Thank you. It’s highly appreciated. 🙂
I’ve discovered the Key!
Charlies that always wanted to be actors: good
Charlies that always wanted to be sheriffs: evil
(by the way, in typing this, I discovered a rare nugget: a Cura typo! My spellcheck caught you in the last panel: sheriff, not sherrif)
Unless, of course, Charlie turns out to be the Dark Everett… mwu ha ha ha! Or if the others go bad. Or if…
Sir….SHADDAP! 😉
Noted and fixing! Gah, that’s two in as many weeks. Thanks!
That’s from rushing lettering after getting back from Oz LOL, I reckon 🙂
Nope! I started with 221. 220 was a leisurely one… I just fell asleep at the weel. Er, wheel.

Was going to attribute it to the late time, then remembered you’re on the West Coast, where it just turned midnight 😉
Fixed!
I should amend that:
Charlies that always wanted to be actors: good
Charlies that actually became actors: dicks
(http://www.curateipsum.com/2011/10/21/two-for-one-and-one-for-all/)
Thank you so much! 🙂 Very kind.

The hat is a good look. Everyone is going to want one now.
Why do I get the feeling a Linda Candello/Andrus path-crossing is in the cards sometime in the relative future? 😉
I’m guessing Monday we find out why Wild Bill Candello didn’t want or get his top hat back from Andrus LOL
Looking a bit closer, I think Wild Bill’s going to end up giving Andrus his attire as well 😉
::Finger next to missing nose::
Touche, sir LOL
Yep.

It’s nice to see I’m not alone in my wing of the Charliverse Physics Laboratory complex LOL

Well, my friend, neither have the rest of us for the most part, so you’re fitting right in! LOL 🙂
