No, he’d portal to the exact space on earth where the food is, so his stomach and the food would “overlap,” causing the food to be instantly in his stomach. No avoiding it.
There is something eerie about the calming, almost sympathetic way DE approaches this with Andrus….almost makes me think of my old friend Boss Carl Grissom, who may have been a murderer and a thief, but also had a lovely singing voice LOL
I feel the need to ask cuz I always found it a little strange when this happened on TV if they were “touching” with a layer of clothes between them. Same thing when entire people were transported along with all of their clothes. You’d think inorganic materials couldn’t pass through. How is a teleporter (or the universe in this case) supposed tell the difference between a jacket and a bed sheet?
As I see it, it’s because Andrus’ mind perceives Dark Everett is touching him. Ultimately, the portals all have to have some intuitive logic based on their creators and their intuition, otherwise they’d almost always open into space, as the world is constantly in motion, and where the apartment was in time and space would be far from where it was by the next time a person portalled to it.
In other words, it is far less scientific than it is magical, though its utility and purpose are steeped in the mind’s scientific expectations.
Which is a long winded way of saying yes, the clothes are a physical barrier, but the problem is merely mental. If Andrus thought the clothes were a barrier, Dark Everett would have stayed.
Is it even possible to physically hurt Andrus?
Yes, but he could still refuse to eat…

Without spoilage, I can’t address that yet, but ask me again once you see a top hat, and I will. 🙂
I’m torn, because this debate is HILARIOUS, but I REALLY wanna know!
That’s what I was wondering. Like, okay, he can’t shoot himself, but would every other method fail as well?
What if he tried to starve himself to death? That’s the only method I don’t think he could portal away from.
If he tried to starve himself to death he would portal back to the last meal he had lol
Well, there’s a dead Andrus/Charlie in the window so I would say he can be hurt or killed, just not by his own hand.

Yes. Very eerie.

Very very eerie indeed.
(I’ll stop doing these now I promise)
No, keep doing it if it works….to me, it works as a humorous counterpoint that stays valid within the context anyway 🙂
He took DE with him?
Yep.
It’s because they were touching right?

Also, must say I really like the double meaning of the title ;D 2nd try, both of them get teleported.
Thanks!
Panel 2… hospital bed?
Woah…weird
Did anyone else spot the Lord of the Rings reference?
