Dark Everett seems to have the exact opposite evil plan as Agent Smith in the Matrix sequels. Wherein Agent Smith wanted to replicate himself infinitely like a cancer; Dark Everett wants to destroy himself infinitely which makes like…gangrene?
Charlie IS Dark Everett before he became Dark Everett. I figured that out in book 2. Charlie has to admit to himself that he has a darker side, the side that nearly took his own life at the very beginning. His suicide attempt was the conception for DE and he has to bring that out, but how? We’ll have to wait to find out.
I’m interested to hear your theory. I think Nerd in volume 1 gives a compelling argument for how Prime could be Dark Everett: That Prime/Dark Everett went back in time, and waited to attack HQ to avoid a grandfather paradox and time unraveling.
We see some support for Nerd’s theory in Volume 3. 1) Andrus’s power can provide a means to time travel. 2) Time unraveling, or the threat of time unraveling, seems to be a theme Neal is moving toward in the story. (See the disintegrating moon in vol 3, also read INRICTI).
NO NOSE NO NOSE NO NOSE NO NOSE NO NOSE NO NOSE NO NOSE NO NOSE NO NOSE NO NOSE
*Hands Stephen one internet, specially framed and embossed.*
Given their luck, if they think “no nose” they may end up at the Sphinx or something.
Or on the holodeck in First Contact with Nicky the Nose.
Or in front of Voldemort
Why thank you, kind lady.

Sorry. I over-analyze…infinitely.

Anyone else have a theory?
