If I was the Dark Everett, I would kill Hitler right before Charlie Prime gets there, just to troll CP.

Kate, love, you are definitely making me make goo-goo eyes in your general direction LOL

Yeah, I think I join the “Dark Everett tries to prevent the Chronocaust” camp, too. This talk of meddling does bode ill.

Reminds me of an old (Turtledove?) story where some do-gooders off the fascist leaders of the 20th century only to return and find a 21st century devoid of human life. Turns out, without their crimes as a warning almost everybody went fascist and proceeded to conduct ethnic cleansings with biological weapons…

Gotta say I’m with the anti time travel group on the Hitler thing. He had terrible goals, but he could also be pretty terrible at carrying them out. He tapped into some pretty potent forces and directed them in terrible ways but in the end he was still just a screw-up who couldn’t even get into art school.

Fuck that. I’d make it my business to go find tyrants in their youth and educate them in the ways of decency… and mind-altering drugs.
Either that or kill all the folk they were going to kill by myself so they wouldn’t get the blame any more.

And then there’s Stephen Fry’s book in which killing Schiklgruber in 1917 just paved the way for someone much worse.

I’ll have to check that out. I read one Stephen Fry book long ago and enjoyed it.
