He’s not dead is he? Did he just get thrown really far? The reveal of his condition in Cura is one of my favorite story twists so far.

Nope, not dead. But he may need new pants.

Or they could just give him a vacation to the naked universe–where a lack of pants is an asset!

You had me worried there for a second. I would’ve had a fit if Billy was sucked into a portal to space!

Anyone else read Gaiman’s Neverwhere? 🙂

New pants for sure. Glad he’s okay. I’m looking forward to reading more of his story.

I was really scared for a second there, but then I read Neal’s comment. Now I won’t spend the next hour worrying.

Neal, what do you think would have happened if that portal had opened in the portal bunker in the old Cura HQ? Just wondering if it could have withstood it, or it would have sucked in the walls/doors. Not really sure of the effects of vaccuum on a solidly built and sealed box…

In my opinion? Without stepping on the next few days, it would implode and kill everyone at headquarters. But bear in mind what I think is not necessarily what the average Charlie might think. He’s shortsighted in some ways, and has some very big blind spots.

Nerd would know, which is probably why the Nerd doesn’t truck much with the travelling room. It’s like airport security. More of a reassurance that danger won’t happen to you than a way to stop any real chaos.

My question is: How long would the portal stay open after the Charlie who opened the portal has already been sucked in?

A good question… and one which will be answered shortly.

Cool, thanks! Yeah, I figured somebody is going to mention why they used the traveling room… and now I know that Nerd will probably remind them that it’s probably rubbish anyway.
