Nice riff on the original mutliversal riff on CP’s attempted suicide, using less frames but the point remains….and like that riff, I figure the last frame is the one we will follow LOL
Starting to drift away from my original feeling that I prefer M/W/F updates and over to the “GIMME THIS EVERY DAY!!!!!!” camp, NB 😉
This just got fun 🙂 Plus I like fact that you are establishing that there are still universes being created for the Multiverse traveling charlies. Looking forward to see how are you going to play with the Plot :D!!
Also I second the motion of having updates everyday !!!
Awesome. What’s really interesting is that this suggets there are other Anchor Universes out there, and that perhaps for each of them there’s a potential Charlie Prime/Dark Everett?
Very cool. I’m also intrigued that, like the original string, the difference here is not in the DECISION to pull the trigger, but in the outside influence to alter the outcome. And, bonus: I think the final frame hints that all Charlies remain subject to suicidal tendencies.
First, I do believe Charlene’s been wearing a vest all this time, so her jumping Leo’s shot, I believe (and hopefully in the next 12 hours NB 😉 ) she will be ok (well as my bouncer friend tells me, as ok as it is getting hit in the vest can be), so I believe that was less suicidal and more survivalist.
Next, 😉 Does killing an alternate universe version of yourself constitute a suicide, or by extension, a suicidal tendency? I’m sure not all the Charlies have been warm and fuzzy like CP has been to this point, as evidenced by Leo, Nerd, and Charlene, so much like evolution, the weaker Charlies are being removed by:
a) their own (successful) suicides
b) DE taking them out (as seen in the police station)
c) (as of yet to be seen) natural causes such as playground accidents as a child, etc. you can imagine
This is not to say that this is moving toward one unified w/e, just that to use the Vulcan ideology – Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations – there’s always a Charlie, for good or ill. What happens to them is the grist for this multiversal mill…
And yes, I realize I just geeked all over this, and I am sorry LOL
I’d probably venture to say it’s the reader’s choice as to whether it’s a suicidal tendency or not… I like that idea, though.
Mainly I like the idea that there are so many angles to it. If she dies, it’s a murder, a suicide, a form of fratricide, and manslaughter (womanslaughter, I suppose).
The debate over whether there’s an infinite number of possibilities or whether there are a limited one, however, is important. I’ll say that much.
forget m/w/f or everyday…I want the whole story now. I tried waiting as long as I could to get more at once, lasted 3 days. wish I had the patience to wait a year-ish, then read all at once.
I’m glad you took this route, I was worried you were going to go for the classic stereotype “we can’t do this, he’s not evil”. Although in at least one universe that would have happened.
This is movie material, I kid you not. Screw Inception and source code and the likes, this has much less theoretical problems than those films, plus the story is awesome!
I have my own opinion of what happened here. As this is the Anchor universe, it can thereore not be multiple universes. Rather, what I think happens is they kill him, time unravels, resets back to the action that caused it to unravel, kill him again, time unravels, etc, until something (here Charleen) stops his death and thereore stops time unravelling.
Well, I believe this has firmly established that Leo is a total freakin psycho. Goin straight for the execution on the most flimsy of circumstantial evidence and despite pleas not to. The punch was a gratuitous overreaction, but this goes way beyond. That guy has serious issues.
Is there a particular reason why Leo in versions 3 and 4 are wearing green, and why Squirt’s shirt and the gun blast are both green in version 3, and why there is a blue circle on Leo’s arm?
Slight variations in universes, or… color choice. 🙂 Honestly, that’s just my smart-ass answer for “Not sure what Jordan (our colorist) was thinking, but I’d say either works.”

I will bear that in mind. 🙂
And I figure Charlene’s got her vest on, so she’s not dying here…..I hope LOL
This might be wrong…but part of me wanted Charlene to yell “DENIED!” when she got shot.
I’m a bit puzzled by this, are these four frames an artistic throwback to his alternate suicide attempts or are they actually happening?
Yes.
Can’t comment, alas. But it will be explained in time.
Hah! I’m the letterer, so I can actually make you that if you want. Custom prints! Hey-oh!

If I may extrapolate:

lol I just saw the title, I’m suprised no one else has mentioned it
Me too, honestly. Heh.

Thanks! I think it’d be a neat concept for a film, though it’d have to be trimmed a bit. I’m writing a script for it.

I see what you did there with Leo.
wrong page, ignore

Haha, ok thanks!
