And at the risk of getting my masculinity card revoked, couldn’t this have been drawn to give the impression of full nudity without showing her topless?
And lastly, who was it who opened the portal to here? In the melee, I can’t seem to figure it out, or was it some kind of mass-portal thing where all of them thinking ‘safe” created this?
It was Charlie who opened the portal (he’s the one that can do the trick where if you concentrate on a given thing, you may get it), with the others helping bolster the power by holding his hand (per a few pages back).
Your masculinity card is certainly NOT revoked, sir, because I asked the same question myself, and with very good reason. Nudity in a comic is a risk, and one that, to my mind, should only be justified by prior intent of the media or to an explicit, important purpose in a story, given the effect it can have.
Rest assured, I spent MANY months making sure I wanted to make this choice, and bouncing it off others. There is a story-driven purpose, which you shall see.
I think I can say, without being too spoilery, that the woman is NOT a Charlie. It would be kinda strange to have her hanging out in Central Park waiting in case the Charlies show up. I’d have a hard time justifying that particular plot hole, heh. Though I LOVE that you guys are speculating, and enjoying what might be. I don’t always comment (mostly because I’m punching the keys), but the speculation and your enjoyment encourages me, no end, so thanks.
Well, I am anticipating odd worlds eventually (else where did Andrus come from?) such as they may be, with attendant plotholes big enough to hide the Moon, and attendant non-explanations…just as a for instance, I’m going to guess Broadway Dick Charlie never had the Big Fight with his father, therefore that particular defining moment in most of the team’s lives never happened, much as the chemistry set was the lynchpin moment for the Nerd…I guess what I’m trying to say is I expect more MORE and nuts 😉

This may be meta-gaming (who knows, maybe it’ll be explored), but the reason I had in my head that Charlie became the actor in the other universe is that his father died young.
I also expect some eventual understanding of just how DE came to assemble NTI, as it seems on the surface that DE kept these particular Charlies alive for his own purposes, plus (and I think we discussed this in the wayback) the fact that it seems on the surface that most Charlies are not homicidal, just suicidal (sad but true), so why are they in league with DE?
Not asking for/expecting answers, just postulating LOL
Rather than weigh down the main storyline with the why/where/whatfore of DE’s origin/creation of NTI, how’s about creating a side project totally independent of CTI for that purpose at some point? Ironically, the opening sequence would probably look very similar to our introduction to CP, and since it would be occurring “before” a lot of what we know, I’d assume CTI wouldn’t have been much different than it is now post DE-massacre of HQ, and just because it would be funny as all out (to me at least LOL), Leo would be the Charlie who saved him “then”.

I spittaked reading that. I had totally forgotten. I was thinking “God, how will people react to nudity, justified by the story or not?” And that made me realize, holy crap, yeah, Hank got naked on what, page 60 something? Heh.
Though this story will, of course, get slightly more nuts. And by slightly, I mean… well, you’ll see.
It’d be great, if only I could finance it. Quite honestly, I’d do as many books as I could if I could afford it. The biggest problem is, Cura comes out of my own pocket, so I have to fold it into the story, otherwise it doesn’t get done.
But hopefully, if I wrote well and artfully, it won’t bog down at all.

Having a buck naked woman in your comic just adds to the already wonderfully intriguing, addicting and entertaining story and is another quirk that makes this such a unique comic.
Plus, damn dude, she is HOT! Great artwork! Three thumbs up! Oh, wait, that third one is too big to be a thumb… heh heh
At this point Hank would like to point out that he was naked in the comic first.
Considering the length I just had to go to to find that, rest assured this is the first officially discernible nudity so far 😉
